The Whole Experience

Hi there! I’m excited to create one-of-a-kind images with you that will last a lifetime. Here’s what to expect from start to finish.

The Beginning

After I receive your initial email, we’ll schedule a consultation phone call. We will discuss the date, time, and location for your session. You can tell me all about your hopes and dreams for your photos. I can help you decide on outfits and props to bring (the more, the merrier). Payment will be discussed over the phone and I will send you a contract via email. After I receive the signed contract and the retainer fee, you will be officially booked.

I will send you an email before the session with a “get to know you” questionnaire, photo prep guide, and easy posing tips. However, do not fear, I will pose you throughout the entire session, that’s my job. We can discuss anything else in the upcoming days before the session as well. Get excited! I know I am.

The Middle

I’ll arrive at the location early to scope it out and find the perfect spot(s). I’ll set up anything that needs setting up. You should arrive at our scheduled time or a little early if you need to change into an outfit first. We will start with the “Hi, how are ya’s” and then, get to it. I will position you and pose you throughout the whole session. If you have a few specific poses in mind, we can do those first.

It’s going to be fun and carefree. If you want to play music, you can! If you need to bring a hype friend, do it! At the end of the time, we will wrap up and give each other high fives or hugs. I’ll rush home and send you a sneak peek within a few days. Photos are exciting and I know you’ll want to see them!

The End (but it doesn’t have to be)

I will do some light editing to your photos after the session. If you wake up with a blemish on photo day, I’ll take care of that in Photoshop. If you have a small wrinkle you don’t love, I can take care of that too. I will not, however, make you 10 feet taller or give you blue hair. I cannot take out wrinkles in clothing either, so please arrive with pressed clothing.

After I lightly edit your photos, I’ll send you a link and password to your online gallery where you can view them. They will be there for you to download and use as you please.

If you purchase a package with an album, prints, or wall art, you can choose which photos you want printed. I will help guide you when choosing your wall art. Not everyone wants a couch sized photo of aunt Susie.

The Fine Print

Payment Stuff. A retainer fee which is 20% of your package will be due after the consultation phone call. Once I receive it, you will be booked and on my schedule. The rest of the payment is due 2 weeks before your session date. The retainer fee is non-refundable. It assures my time is yours and nobody else’s. If you decide to no-show, no longer want the session, or arrive more than 20 minutes late, I keep the retainer per your signed contract.

Be on time Stuff. If you’re running late, I will wait up to 20 minutes for you to arrive. If you arrive within those 20 minutes, I will still take your photos, but you won’t get as much time. If you arrive past those 20 minutes, I will pack up and leave. We will have to reschedule. My time is just as important as yours. Life happens, so if you know you need to reschedule within 48 hours of the session date, I will accommodate that. If you need to reschedule, you will be charged a $50 fee.

Q+A

Q: Why are your prices so high?

A: I have invested time and money into professional education, equipment, camera gear, and editing software. I am a member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America) as well.

Q: I know you’re located in the High Desert, will you travel down the hill?

A: Yes, I’ll drive to you. Palm Springs, the beach, and San Diego are all beautiful places. During our consultation phone call, we can decide on the location of your photo session.

Q: I love my photos so much, can I purchase prints?

A: Yes, of course!! I work with a company that prints archival prints, albums, wall art, and more. I can order anything you want and have it shipped to you. I have sample albums and prints you can touch and feel to get an idea of the quality. If your package doesn’t include these, you can add them on after the session. Please, don’t let your images “die a digital death”, get them printed.

Q: Will you give me the RAW files?

A: Reach out and we can talk. Editing the images is part of my creative process and is included in your session. However, if you’re in need of branding photos and would like to use your own presets, I understand. I’m not a gate keeper, nor a RAW keeper.

Q: Are you available for destination sessions?

A: Yes. Get in touch and we can work out the details.

I am sure I didn’t cover every question in the universe, so if you have any others, feel free to reach out.
