Inland Empire Business Branding Photography: Telling Your Story
Portrait photographer branding photo. I show off my fun, carefree side.
Magic happens when you’re busy building your own business.
Is it easy? Heck no!! And, this is how I will help you celebrate you and your business.
And, keep in mind you’re more than just a logo or pretty color palette.
You have a story to tell and share with the world. Or, town.
If you’ve ever felt unsure about what to post, struggled with how to show up online, or wished your photos felt more like you… You’re not alone. So many small business owners across Southern California and in the Inland Empire are building something beautiful, but don’t always know how to tell their story.
That’s exactly what branding sessions are for.
Grab a cup of tea and let’s get started, this is going to be a doozy.

What is a Branding Session?
A branding photo session isn’t simply about getting a “good photo for your email.”
It’s about telling your whole story:
You can keep it light, but you do have to tell a story
Who are you? You can keep it shallow or go deep.
What you do, and how can you help me?
How does it feels to work with you?
Do you offer tangible items, or are you a service provider?
Yes, you need a great business portrait (headshot), the kind you’re excited to share. But it can’t stop there.
I have a curated list of go-to images so you’ll be represented even when you’re not in the room.
Photos that say:
This is me
This is what I stand for (IMO you don’t need to portray politics or religion, but you do you, boo) We can capture you however you want!
I’m fun and colorful or calm and collected
This is what I offer you and why you need this…
When you’re around me, you’ll feel this way…
You’ve worked hard on your business, and you deserve images that work extra hard for you!
My goal?
To create photos you won’t just love—but actually use. Sounds silly right? But, it’s true. I’ve heard many people say that they had a great branding session, but don’t know what to do with the images.
Your images will live on your website and social media feed. They should tell your story in a way that feels authentic, and totally you!

Your Business, Your Story
Before I even pick up the camera, we’ll begin with the most important part: a conversation.
I want to know your story. The whole story and nothing but the story. Ha!
We’ll talk about all the things:
Who you serve
What does your brand shout-out from the mountain top?
How you currently show up online (and how you wish you showed up) (I struggle with this myself)
The types of images you’ve been missing
How you plan on using your images (you want faceless for adding text overlays, space above your head to add titles, etc.)
If you’ve had a branding session before, how did you use the photos, or didn’t use them? I want to know how to make this session a better experience for you.
This isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience. Your business is unique, and your photos should be too.
Together, we’ll create a branding session that is perfect for you.
Think of me as a personal chef and I’m cooking something magical for you. Do you ike cheese? Do you hate mayo? Do you preer paper plates or fine china? How do you take your coffee? Do you even like coffee? Get the point? ;)
Day in the life.
Playful, Story-Driven Branding Session
For branding sessions, I’ve created a simple but intentional process that ensures you walk away with images you will actually use. Huzzah!
Each session includes 6-12 thoughtfully curated images (depending on what you need), designed to cover the heart and soul of your brand.
Here are a few of the image types:
Celebrate with a disco hat and faux bubbly.
1. The Celebration
This will be your moment to shine. Even if you haven’t opened yet, you will soon, and then you’ll need to celebrate!
If a milestone is happening, an anniversary in your business, or simply the grand opening. This photo will capture your happiness, excitement, and you celebrating everything you’ve built.
Props can include balloons, confetti, a bottle of bubbly, you dancing, or doing a cartwheel.
It’s a great photo to have on the back burner for when you need it. 2 months or 6 months from now. And, let’s be honest, there’s always something to celebrate in business!
More serious business portrait.
2. Business Portraits
A classic, but let’s not make it boring. Boring isn’t even allowed around here.
This will be your polished, professional image. The one you’ll use for your website, LinkedIn profile, speaking events, and beyond.
This is usually a simple pose from the bust up. If you want a professional one and a fun one, we can do that, too. It’s always better to have options, right?

3. Behind the Scenes (BTS)
This is where we show off some behind-the-scenes magic. You in action, doing your thing.
Creating with your hands, working on your laptop, doing what you do best. These are the moments your audience connects with most. They will feel like they’re there with you.
If you have brand-specific colors or items you’re often using, these will be incorporated. If you have a special chair, we’ll capture you lounging in it.
If you bake sourdough, I’ll pat a little flour on your apron and photograph you taking a fresh loaf out of the oven.
Sounds fun, right? It is! And, will be.
4. Your Tools
Every business has its tool arsenal.
Whether it’s your laptop, camera, scissors, makeup brushes, cupcake pan, or workspace, we highlight the tools that bring your work to life.
The image can be as simple as your hands holding the tool. Or, a beautiful flatlay.
This is a perfect image for those days when you don’t know what to post. You can add a text overlay and create a short reel, or it can go on the backside of a business card.
It’s great for cropping in as well, where just a corner shows.
A simple laptop image creates connection.
5. Desktop or Laptop
A modern essential. Yes, it’s a tool, but it’s also a form of connection. So, this is a separate image.
Perfect for websites, social media, and marketing materials, this image shows you in your digital workspace. It’s a little sneak peek of you connecting with your audience behind the screen.

6. A Day in the Life
Those little in-between moments.
Sipping coffee. Organizing your space. Laughing between tasks. These images feel very warm and human. They show off the side of you that isn’t usually seen.
This is a peek into your regular life, not your business life.

7. Client Connection
Your business is about people. So, including them is a must.
Whether it’s a staged interaction or a real moment, we’ll capture what it looks like to work with you. Shaking hands, handing keys over to the new owner, or handing a bag of goodies to a customer at the farmers’ market.
It builds trust before your client even reaches out. It makes you look like a real person. And, in today’s AI world, real human connection is gold!
I have a few other images on my go-to list, but these are the must-have ones. I also have a list of nice-to-haves for the bussiness girlies who want more. If you’re interested, let’s hop on a call, and we can talk.
For Businesses that are Constantly Growing: Quarterly Sessions
Some businesses don’t stay the same, and that’s a good thing!
If you are evolving or always shifting throughout the year; this is for you, because a single session might not be enough.
That’s where my quarterly branding subscription comes in.
Instead of scrambling for content or reusing the same 6 images over and over, you’ll have fresh, intentional photos for each season. Even if you don’t want “seasonal” images, you’ll have new content to use and share.
This is perfect for:
Business owners who show up consistently online
Your social media game is strong!
You value variety
You, personally, have a few different looks and a varied style
Creatives and stylists who launch new offers throughout the year
Entrepreneurs who want their content to feel current and fresh
Businesses who have seasonal offers and styling
We’ll meet a few times during the year, documenting your business along the way.
Think of it as a visual diary, and I’m your personal paparazzi, without the stress. Ha!
Contact me for complete pricing, but in a nutshell, you pay in monthly installments for the whole year.
Why Branding Photography is Important (especially in Southern California)
Southern California is full of creativity, and here in the Inland Empire, small businesses are being built every day.
Which means connection matters more than ever.
People don’t just buy services anymore.
They buy stories and connections.
They buy you.
People buy people, not products.
When your branding photos reflect your personality and who you are, people lean in, and they want more of you!
You become memorable to them, whether you know it or not.
And then showing up online doesn’t feel like a chore anymore. It feels like a piece of who you are. It becomes your normal routine, like brushing your teeth.
You Do Not Have to Know How to Pose
Did you know this is one of the biggest concerns I hear from clients?
“I’m awkward in front of the camera. I never know what to do with my hands.”
Business bestie… You are not alone.
You don’t need to know how to pose. I will guide you, show you where to place your hands, and have you laughing the whole time- because nothing is that serious. Please don’t think you need to have it all figured out.
It’s all part of my job. I have experience with posing people, and I love it. I get to be bossy in an acceptable way! Every woman’s dream. Haha
I’ll guide you through the entire process so your photos feel natural and true to you.
Sharing Your Story Through Branding
Your business didn’t happen by accident. Or, overnight.
It was built on late nights, lots of coffee, little doubts, mistakes, and big decisions.
It deserves to be seen. Show it off!
If you’re a small business owner, creative, or entrepreneur in Southern California, around the High Desert, and the Inland Empire, and you’re ready to bring your brand to life through a playful branding session, I would love to work with you.
Let’s create something that feels like you, for you.
I will go to your office whether its in your home or not. We can meet at a location, or you can come to my studio.
Reach out today to book your session or learn more about quarterly branding options.
Cheers!
Annette
