Meet Annette, Your High Desert Fantasy Portrait Photographer
You want more than a photo; you want proof that this moment, this version of you, actually exists.
I'm Annette, mom of four, and the kind of photographer who photographs the book nerds, the Star Wars fans, the moms who are so much more than just a mom. The ones whose inside world is the most magical thing about them, and nobody's ever thought to photograph that. If that's you, you've found your gal.
Why I Do This
I grew up without childhood photos. My dad was a landscape photographer, beautiful work, but he never turned the camera on me. My hand might show up in a photo for size reference, but no portraits. No proof I was actually there.
I didn't understand how much that absence mattered until I was sitting in photography school, writing my "why," and it hit me all at once: I don’t want anyone else to feel unseen the way I did.
That's the moment I stopped taking pictures and started making proof. Proof that you exist, that you matter, and that you are as wonderful as you feel on the inside.
So I built a whole business around it, a cottage studio on my property here in the High Desert. A big trunk full of fairy wings, gowns, robes, crowns, and swords. I photograph the people who want a piece of the fairytale: the dreamers, the ones who want to play.
My sessions are playful, guided, and full of laughter. This will not feel like a school photo. You don't need to know how to pose or how to hold your hands; you just need to arrive ready and willing. I'll hand you a sword, put fire behind you, and let you channel the warrior you've always been. Or hand your toddler wings and let her be the fairy she secretly knows she is.
When it's all done, I'll hand-deliver your artwork to your door. Printed art is forever- and so are you.
I photograph you to make you, you, to feel like you, to look like you.
I'd love to create something magical for you. Let's talk.
Digital is Disposable.
Your Story isn’t.
Question: You say everywhere that you only offer prints and albums. Do I get any digital files at all?
Answer: Yes, of course! You'll get a digital copy of every image you purchase, perfect for sharing on social media. I want you showing off your photos to friends and family just as much as you want to hang them on your wall.
Question: How long does it take to get my album or framed print?
Answer: I allow 3 weeks, since some pieces take a little longer to come back from my professional print lab. Most of the time, though, you'll have everything in hand within 2–3 weeks.
Random Facts about the Artist
I create art through portraits, but I'm just as likely to be found sewing (I even have a blog about it).
We're a full mini-farm household — chickens, ducks, a Ragdoll cat named Captain who's fully convinced he's a dog, and Gypsy Pickles, our golden retriever/German shepherd puppy currently destroying one shoe at a time.
In the summer, you'll find me in my backyard, my own little secret garden — and honestly, the perfect spot for magical portraits.
My love language is sarcasm, and mashed potatoes are the best food. No contest.
I married my best friend, and between him, our 4 kids, camping trips, and quad rides, life is never boring.
