High School Senior Picture Session in Apple Valley by a Fantasy Photographer

Is your High School kid graduating this year?

Would you love to give them a photography session of a lifetime?

If you answered yes, then you’re in the right place. I just so happen to know a guy. Or gal, in this case.

I love High School Seniors! They’re coming into their own; they have a style and way about them. And, this is usually the last time they get photos taken, until their wedding.

Meet Lucy

Let’s dive into this fun and whimsical senior picture session. Her story is a little different from most seniors.

She graduated last minute and discovered that she was on the spectrum. I loved the way she emersed herself in this whole session. When speaking with her dad over the phone, I could hear his excitement and love for his daughter.

As with any senior, I tell the parent and graduate to bring props, jerseys, outfits, and more! They are leaving their childhood behind them, so let’s commemorate that.

The Outfits & Looks

Mini Lightsaber, rocks, and fairy ears, oh my!

She arrived wearing flare jeans and a black tank. So, we started off with a Star Wars-themed image. She wore fun fairy ears the entire time, and her red hair matched the rocks beautifully.

This is still one of my favorite images to date.

After we played Star Wars on another planet, we moved on to another world entirely. The Legend of Zelda.

A quick outfit change here and some new props there. We went into fairy mode. This is another of my absolute favorites.

She was just as excited as I was about all these outfits and themes. I loved it, and her energy was addictive!

Can you tell how much I loved this photo session!?!? I love every one of my clients, but this one was extra special.

It was also a pivotal moment when I realized what and who I wanted to photograph.

I wanted to create memories and print them for kids and adults who like to play dress up. Those who don’t fit inside a square box. I want to capture the magic and discover the fantasy inside.

No boring photos. This is your story, and I want to help tell it.

She quickly changed into a crochet vest and fun sunglasses. This was a fun look, too. The sun was working against us at this point, so I had to pull some creativity out of my back pocket.

So, we went for another option. Full sun and smiles!

Oh, and I almost forgot, we took the usual cap and gown photo. But we did it a little differently. She wore her ears to show her individuality.

She didn’t really want to wear the cap and gown, but I told her we had to do one for the parents.

Of course, there were tons of poses in each outfit, and we had fun that morning. I hope to have created a core memory for her that day. One that will last a lifetime.

For Senior pictures, you can still let your personality shine through. Yes, even with a cap and gown.
